Rooftops in Paris, France

The aim of the piece was to show the rooftops of Paris not just as buildings, but as part of a lively, moving cityscape. Blue and yellow tones were used to infuse the scene with both energy and tranquility; yellow to suggest sunlight and warmth, blue to convey depth and calm. Fluid ink lines were used to transform the rigid structures of the buildings into flowing forms that extend toward the edges of the piece, giving the composition a sense of dance and allowing the city to spill into a fantastical, dreamlike space.
